Test points (Minimess) are designed to make it safe and simple for maintenance technicians to check pressure in hydraulic systems. They allow machine operators and maintenance personnel to easily and safely connect analog/digital measuring and display devices for the temporary testing or continuous monitoring of system pressure. This type of connection requires no tools, can be used during machinery operation, and will spill no oil when connected and disconnected. The unit even has the capability to connect under pressure up to 5800 PSI (400 bar).
The pressure testing side of the test point is M16x2. The side that connects into the machinery comes in a variety of connections – NPT, SAE, JIC, Metric, BSPP, BSPT, ORFS, DKO, etc. A benefit of using the M16x2 test point is that it also minimizes the introduction of contamination in a hydraulic system. The units are suitable for hydraulic oils and other mineral-based fluids.
The M16x2 test coupling has many names. It is often referred to as a test point, Minimess®, MiniPress®, Test 20, EMA, or Press-Check.
Use in conjunction with the direct gauge adapter.
